FAQ
Thoughtful answers to common questions about herbal tinctures, mineral supplements, children’s use, and what to expect on your wellness journey.
Herbal wellness can feel overwhelming at first—especially with so much conflicting information online. These answers are meant to give you clarity, confidence, and peace of mind as you explore natural support for yourself and your family.
What is a tincture?
Any herb extracted in alcohol or food grade glycerin for 4-9 weeks is a tincture! The dose is part alcohol or glycerin, part water, and the herb being extracted. Each dose is equivalent to the amount of alcohol that is in a ripe piece of fruit so no need to worry.
Why take a tincture over pill form of an herb/vitamin?
Herbal tinctures are often more effective than pills because they’re already in a liquid, bioavailable form. When you take a pill or capsule, your body has to break it down first. That process can reduce how much of the herb you actually absorb. Tinctures, on the other hand, are absorbed more quickly—often starting in the mouth and continuing through the digestive tract—so the body can use them faster and more efficiently. In addition to faster absorption, you are receiving a higher potency per dose and there are not additives or fillers!
Why take Ionic mineral supplements over pill forms?
Ionic minerals are a better choice over pills because they’re already in a form your body can absorb. In pills or capsules, minerals are bound together and must be broken down during digestion. That process can limit absorption—especially if someone has low stomach acid or digestive issues. Ionic minerals are dissolved into charged particles in liquid form, so the body can recognize and absorb them more easily. Liquid minerals begin absorbing immediately and less likely to cause bloating or stomach upset. You also receive so much higher concentration of the mineral(s) because there are no fillers or preservatives to keep it shelf stable.
What is the shelf life of the products?
-Liposomal C & Elderberry must be refrigerated and if stored properly will last 1-3 months. -Herbal tinctures and Ionic mineral supplements are best stored at room temperature in a cool dry place such as a cabinet out of direct sunlight. They will last 3-5 years if stored properly.
What are dosages for children?
As a general rule, I give under two years old 1-3 drops of an herbal tincture. For children ages 2-6, I give 5-10 drops. Children 6 and older can generally take 10-20 drops. These are only general guidelines and will vary depending on which product you choose and your child’s body’s needs.
Can I take more than one tincture at a time?
YES!! Herbal tinctures are often designed to work together. Many formulas are blended intentionally because certain herbs support or enhance each other’s effects. When taken thoughtfully, multiple tinctures can complement one another rather than compete. General guidelines for taking multiple tinctures: • It’s common to take several tinctures together. • You can take them at the same time or space them out • Start with lower amount when combining new herbs When to be cautious, reach out and ask: • If you’re pregnant or nursing • If you’re taking prescription medications • If you have known health conditions
How soon will I see results?
How quickly you notice results from an herbal tincture or Ionic mineral supplement depends on the herb, the reason you’re taking it, and your body.
Because they are liquid extracts, they’re absorbed quickly—but herbal support works by gently guiding the body back into balance. Some people notice subtle effects within minutes to hours, especially with calming or digestive herbs. Most people feel changes within a few days to 1–2 weeks with consistent use.
Deeper, long-term support (hormones, immunity, stress resilience) often takes 3–6 weeks or longer. What helps you see results sooner? • Taking the tincture consistently!! • Using the recommended amount • Supporting habits (hydration, sleep, nutrition) • Choosing herbs that match your specific needs
